HELLO!
We’re so glad you’re here! Every time we gather (even as we are scattered) we believe it matters. We believe and pray God will encourage, transform, strengthen, and bless you and others through coming together as the Church across our city to worship, pray, and lean into God’s word. As always, please let us know if you’re new, need prayer, or want to connect about anything (links at the bottom of page).

1. PAUSE + SCRIPTURE
1. This week’s moment to pause is within the video, so let’s begin by reading the following scriptures about the amazing gift of the peace of God.
JOHN 14:27 — “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
JOHN 16:33 — "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
2 THESS 3:16 — Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.
ROMANS 15:13 —May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
ROMANS 8:6 — The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.
COLOSSIANS 3:15 — Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
2. Of course all these verses are powerful, but is there one that stands out to you? Why?
If you are with others, read the verse aloud together and discuss the question.
If you are alone, after reading the verses reflect on the question and prayerfully thank God for the encouragement.
2. WORSHIP + MESSAGE.
THE PEACE OF GOD | MAY 17, 2020
One of our culture’s great struggles is that we lack peace — this is not new. The world we are creating, the media we feed on, our divisive society, and clearly the current events we are all walking through are producing anxiety, stress, anger, and more. We need the peace of God.

REFLECT ON KEY THOUGHTS FROM THE MESSAGE
1. PEACE IS MORE ABOUT PRESENCE (not absence).
Only the presence of the Father gives us the confidence to find true peace.
Do you need peace right now? Consider what, how, and why you need peace.
Consider how you could increase time and intentionality around spending time with God’s this week and notice the increase in your peace.
2. PEACE IS ALWAYS NEAR.
Philippians 4 says, “The Lord is near.” Since the Lord is near…peace is always near. One thing comes with the other!
Peace is not about the absence of problems, therefore He may not deliver me from all of my problems, but he will meet me in them.
Your Heavenly Father is near enough to hear you when you call.
3. PEACE WILL GUARD YOUR HEART AND MIND.
Our hearts and minds are vulnerable and need to be guarded.
Life will not be absent of struggle…we will get wet from the storm and the wind will blow against us, but the peace of Jesus and Holy Spirit can guard us.
If you are struggling to feel peace, take time daily to simply ask God, “Lord give me peace today, guard my heart and mind from unneeded worry, distress, fear, anxiety, anger, or judgement. God, I pray Your peace over me and through me.”
